It’s been a week since I got this game on my hands. I think I know it well enough now to review it unlike some other sites who’s decided to bash it after playing it for maybe 2 hours.

The graphics in the game are a mixed bag. From highly polished ie. New York or Hong Kong to so-so looking maps like Chernobyl Ukraine. The cars you’re going to use are pretty decent looking and the addition of different body kits is a nice touch. The NPC cars are.. lame.. They all look GB-style. But who cares about NPC when you drive your Lamborgini Diablo or Hummer H1?!?

Audio: 7.5
The stereo is WOW! Just use headphones while playing and you’ll hear cars on your left or right when you pass them. Boost/NOS sound is.. ok? Now the car sounds.. They’re almost the same. I’ve read, at gamespot I think, that they’re all exactly the same.. That’s bullshit.. Hummer doesn’t sound anything like Lamborgini or Skyline. They ARE quite similar but far from the same.. NPC cars have different sounds too. So I’m not too sure where GS got their info from.
You have 7 audio tracks as BG music. They’re decent and not disturbing. But if they get on your nerves you also have an option to just turn them off.

Touch Screen Usage: Minimal
Other than going though the menus and inside of the garage there is no use of the touch screen. And even there it’s a pain in the ass. In the garage on the tuning screen the points you have to touch are like 2px by 2px.. It’s much easier to get around using the regular controls.

Replay Value: 8
Well.. You collect money.. To buy cars.. Once you have all cars I guess there wont be much reply value. But it’ll take you some time to get the game 100% unlocked. I’m stuck on the Lamborgini championships atm so I’ll probably just collect money now playing other championships and buy all cars. ;p

Tip #1: Easy money:
If you need quick and easy money just use full tuned Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 in GT Championship. That’s $10000-$25000 for the 1st place plus you get a new Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 which you can sell for $62500.

Tip #2: Race as Gamelati 1000 SS motorcycle:
Win all Road Challenges in the Arcade mode to race as Gamelati 1000 SS motorcycle. While racing in the Bonus Cars challenge you race against Formula 1 cars.. So I think that’s the next unlock in the Arcade mode. But how to get it? No clue. Maybe if you win EVERY SINGLE race in the Road Challenges?
